Thursday night about 11:30pm I was out HARD and had been for about an hour.
At that time I faintly heard footsteps coming through the house.
I hit Jeremy and whispered, "did you hear those footsteps, someone is in the house, get your gun!".
He didn't respond.
I layed super still trying not to freak out.
After some time I thought maybe I was just hearing things and relaxed a smidge.
Then I heard more footsteps.
This time getting louder, coming through our dining room, down our litte hall and I saw a figure in the dark slip into the bathroom.
I hit Jeremy super hard this time, multiple times and told him someone was in the house, in our bathroom!
He didn't respond.
I shot straight up in bed and looked to his side of the bed and he was gone.
By now I am FREAKING out.
I was so confused.
I was thinking that the person in the house came and took Jeremy and the person in the bathroom was waiting for me.
My mind started racing, what should I do?!?!?! I thought about getting my shotgun out from under the bed, but was afraid that I would be too noisy loading it and the person in the bathroom might make it into our room before I got it loaded.
So instead I shot out of bed, ran into the hall and turned on all the lights.
I BANGED on the bathroom door and started yelling for Jeremy.
Well wouldn't you know that Jeremy openned the bathroom door just then.
I said, "what are you doing?!"
He said, "pee-in', what's the matter with you?"
I said, "didn't you hear those footsteps in the house?"
He told me he was in the kitchen and he thought it was weird that I didn't wake up when he got out of bed (I usually do).
I think I gave myself a heartattack Thursday night waking up so confused. It must have been the combination of my Chipotle burrito and starbucks I had at Life Group for our fun night that made me sleep so good and hard up until then. Mmmmmmm, Chipotle!
I hope to never have to encounter a real life situation like that. At least that situation has brought us lots of laughter over the last couple of days and I'm sure it won't be easily forgotten!
